RM10,000 for each Arapaima gigas aka Ikan Naga catch at Tasik Kenyir


Terengganu state offer RM10,000 for each Arapaima gigas (ikan naga) catch at Tasek Kenyir. This following to the deaths of two men on June 17. A giant fish that supposedly caused the deaths of two men on Tuesday could have been the highly predatory and aggressive arapaima gigas.

That “kenyir monster” could have been released into the lake by someone when it became too large. Arapaima gigas, a freshwater species commonly found in the Amazon and Orinoco rivers of South America. Arapaima can reach lengths of more than 2 m (6.6 ft), in some exceptional cases even more than 2.5 m (8.2 ft) and over 100 kg (220 lbs).The maximum-cited weight for the species is 200 kg (440 lbs)

A villager who did not want to be named claimed that he had once sighted a giant fish the size of a baby elephant.
