If you can recall recently, several agreements were reached between the government-owned strategic development company, strong1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB)/strong, and the Federal Land Commissioner for the transfer of 196.6 hectares of the Sungai Besi airport land to 1MDB for transformation into Bandar Malaysia – a strategic development for long-term national growth.
In furtherance to the announcement, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak this time announced that a strong Projek Perumahan Rakyat 1Malaysia or 1Malaysia people”s housing project would be developed on a piece of land at the Sungai Besi airbase in Kuala Lumpur.
He said the government has discussed the matter with several companies, such as SP Setia, Sime Darby and Putrajaya Corp, to develop the project on a social business concept. He added that “It should be a very convenient, large area, and it”s going to be impactful. “Imagine the (highly rated) area being turned into an affordable housing area for the rakyat (people).
Under the a PR1MA development concept, the developer would not make a profit because the land was provided by the government and the developers) are not there to make money.They are there to provide affordable, quality housing for the rakyat. Each of them are required to present to the government a business module and cost for the project and suitable business analysis will be done from government end.
The strongProjek Perumahan Rakyat 1Malaysia house price is estimated less than RM220,000 for those aged below 35.
