Nissan Almera Specs and Photo
Tan Chong Motors has launched Nissan’s best selling model in the world in Malaysia with a great specs and price. This model has shown early success where the Nissan Almera has secured 2,000 booking from a customer who have yet to test-driving it.
” The Almera is built on an all-new global “V” (versatile) platform which uses a lightweight yet rigid body. In certain market in the world, Almera also known as Nissan Sunny.
There are few Almera variants available for Malaysia market such as standard specification (E), well equipped (V) & full specification (VL). The Almera are assembled at Tan Chong plant in Serendah.
For the time being, only one type of engine available which is the 1.5-litre HR15DE paired with variable valve timing (CVTC) and throttle control by electronic signals rather than cable (Drive-by-wire).
The output is 102 ps at 6000 rpm with 139 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm.
The Almera has also basic safety equipments that need to be installed in the moden car such as front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist, as well as ISOFIX Child Seat System.
Also notable is the provision of 3-point seatbelts for all three rear occupants. In many cases, the centre occupant usually gets a 2-point seatbelt but the Almera comes with a 3-point type for this person as well.
Almera Fuel efficiency/ consumption
One of the priority that a car need to have is on the fuel efficiency. The 1.5-litre HR15DE four-cylinder engine featuring Continuously Variable-valve Timing Control (CVTC) offers excellent fuel efficiency of 14.9km/l for automatic transmission and 15.9km/l for manual transmission (combined cycle based on Nissan testing).

The car comes in a choice of five colours; Bronze Gold, Sapphire Black, Twilight Grey, Tungsten Silver and Brilliant White.
The On-The-Road (OTR) prices for Almera is really attractive. The base-line offering of the Grade E variant with an M/T or A/T at RM66,800 or RM69,800 respectively.
The Grade V variant that comes only with an A/T for RM76,800 as does the full-specification Grade VL (A/T) at RM79,800.
You can also opt for Almera optional accessories such as the on board multimedia navigation console (with a rear view, DVD player, iPod connectivity, USB and Bluetooth capabilities), LED kicking plate and luxurious leather seats.
The in-house tuner, IMPUL Motor Racing Development also offers Almera IMPUL package for an additional RM9,500.
