A man, caught on video repeatedly punching and kicking a three-year-old boy, is likely to be charged with child abuse soon.
The 32-year-old mechanic, believed to be the stepfather is remanded until Saturday and Klang police deputy chief Supt Jani Ahmad said Friday that police had completed their investigations.
He said a detailed report would be sent to the DPP’s office on Monday for further action.
Jani said the boy was undergoing treatment at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang under supervision of the state welfare department.
On Thursday, Selangor CID deputy chief ACP Rusdi Md Isa said statements had been recorded from the boy’s 20-year-old stepmother, 29-year-old biological mother, neighbour and a doctor.
The mechanic was arrested Tuesday after an eight-minute video clip went viral on Facebook and YouTube.
The clip, recorded by the stepmother, shows the boy being hurled and kicked by a man wearing a blue shirt and a pair of jeans at a house in Taman Mas, Kapar, Klang – Bernama
