Mac Printscreen Shortcuts

I bought a Macbook in April last year but since then I haven’t do any screen capturing simply because I don’t know how to do it. But I would like to thanx to HongKiat for writing “Making Fast Screen Captures in Windows & Mac”. While reading his blog today, I came across with this post and of course immediately try it.

In summary, you can do the following to do screen captures in your Mac

  • Command + Shift + 3 – Prints the entire screen
  • Command + Shift + 4 – You can prints the screen according to user selection.
  • Command + Shift + 4 then Space – By holding down Command + Shift + 4, your cursor will turn to cross-hair. Then hit the space bar once it will turned to a camera icon. This allows you to capture any opened
    windows
, regardless of active or hiding behind.

Try it now!

If you noticed in  this blog, I attached many screen captures in my post. I did it using Firefox add on called Fireshot. You might want to try this instead if you are using windows.
