There is no way to earn easy money in this real world. No matter whether it is a quick rich sheme, autosurf, pyramid, ponzi all of these programme has similarity in promising high return normally 20-100%. Just like one reported in the Star today, “Mat Kiosk” scam. I have actually been approached by this team many months ago and has attended a briefing session at Bangsar. Everything look fine and real with a demo vendor machine, more than 10 salesman, a paper cutting showing the company launching the Mat Kiosk and also a nice briefing place too.
Mat Kiosk is another self-service vendor machine where customer can buy prepaid card, cinema ticket etc at the kiosks. According to the salesman, we just need to pay RM4,000 to participate, the rest can be paid through loan which they will arrange at later time. They have also promised to find a place for the kiosks to be placed. In my case, since I am staying in Bandar Baru Bangi, they have identified Hitachi Factory as for them has lot of potential.
With that investment, based on previous kiosks owner, investor can bring back RM1,000 – RM4,000 a month and we have to spend few hours a week to check on the stock etc. I felt so lucky because not involve in this scam due to maybe at that time I don’t have enough cash, otherwise I will be part of the statistic.
PETALING JAYA: Victims of the “Mat Kiosk” scam are planning to hand over a memorandum to the Attorney-General’s office to re-open police investigations into their case.
Kelana Jaya MP Loh Gwo-Burne, who initiated the move, claimed that the police had closed the case because there was no criminal element behind the scam.
“Without a criminal investigation, the true culprits will go unpunished,” he said after meeting about 150 victims at his office yesterday.
Loh said if the Attorney-General failed to accept the memorandum, he would bring up the matter with Minister in the Prime Minister’s Depart-ment Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz.
The victims fell prey to the scam when they were urged, via telephone calls, to invest in a self-service kiosk.
Apparently, the public could pay their utility bills and buy airline and cinema tickets at the kiosks.
Each investor was promised commissions of between RM1,000 and RM4,000 a month.
Some 200 people paid more than RM50mil for the scheme.
The investors were then told to wait 14 days for a full briefing on how the scheme worked. However, none got any word of it since.
“The scam is still on-going and the people are being cheated everyday,” said Loh.
“Hundreds of victims have also lodged police reports, highlighted their plight to government agencies and Bank Negara,” he said.
