
Bukit Jalil National Stadium , located in the National Sports Complex to the south of the capital city of Malaysia Kuala Lumpur, is a 87,411 capacity all-seater, multi-purpose stadium that was built in 1998 to host the 1998 Commonwealth Games. It also served as the main stadium of the 2001 Southeast Asian Games.
The Bukit Jalil’s capacity makes it the 25th largest stadium in the world and the 9th largest football stadium in the world. It is also the second largest stadium in Southeast Asia behind Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. It was built by United Engineers Malaysia, Bhd, and completed three months ahead of schedule. Designed to host a multitude of events, the National Stadium is the central and most prominent sports venue at the 1.2 km² National Sports Complex in Bukit Jalil.

Driving
If you’re driving, take the Sungai Besi highway and follow the sign to the National Stadium. There are plenty of car park surrounding the stadium. The rate from RM5 depends on events in the stadium.
From KL Sentral
From KL Sentral, take the Rapid LRT on the Kelana Jaya line heading towards Gombak and get off at Masjid Jamek station, it’ll cost RM 1.30 and from Masjid Jamek station, board the Rapid LRT on the Ampang line towards Sri Petaling and get off at Bukit Jalil station, it’ll cost another RM 1.90.
